The Life of SHIRLEY J BIXBY
Shirley J Bixby, 67, of the 2300 block of Vine Street in West Des Moines died of complications of a liver ailment Friday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel United Methodist Church, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Bixby was born near Dana and had lived in the Des Moines area for 52 years. She was a homemaker and had served on boards of directors for the Lupus Foundation of America and the West Des Moines Girls'' Softball Association. She enjoyed crafts, puzzles and bingo.
She is survived by a son, Steven of West Des Moines; three daughters, Cheryl Bixby of Sioux Falls, SD, and Catherine Bixby and Candace Bixby, both of Des Moines; and a grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald.
