The Life of DONALD A BIXBY
Donald A Bixby, 74, of the 2300 block of Vine Street, West Des Moines, died of complications of diabetes Friday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. The body was cremated, and memorial services will be held at 5 p.m. today at Brooks Funeral Care. Interment will be held at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery at a later date.
Mr. Bixby was born in Estherville and had lived in West Des Moines 35 years. He was a driver for Jefferson Bus Lines from 1955 to 1983. He served in the Navy during World War II and was a member of Acanthus Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; a son, Steven of West Des Moines; three daughters, Cheryl Bixby of Sioux Falls, SD, and Catherine Bixby and Candace Bixby, both of Des Moines; and a grandchild.
Friends may call today at the funeral home one hour prior to services.
