The Life of ASTRID M WEATHERINGTON

Astrid M. Weatherington, 85, of 1555 Hull Ave. died Monday at Luther Park Care Center from complications of a stroke.  Services will be at 10 am. Thursday at Westover Funeral Home, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Weatherington was a native of Malmo, Sweden, and came to Des Moines 60 years ago.  She was a retired dietary aide for Iowa Methodist Medical Center and was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Grace Lutheran Church, the Des Moines White Shrine, Daughters of the Nile and the Solcial Order of Beaucant.

She is survived by a daughter, Betty Jardine of Okoboji; a son, Ernest of Des Moines, a sister, Elsa Morrison of Des Moines; a brother Oscar Kjellberg of Ruthven; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church.
