The Life of MERLE ERNEST WEATHERINGTON

Services for Merle E. Weatherington, 71, of Omaha, AR, formerly of Des Moines, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Westover Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Weatherington died Wednesday of a lung ailment at the Cox Medical Center in Springfield, MO.  Born in Des Moines, he was a resident here for 65 years before moving to Arkansas several years ago.  Before his retirement in 1963, he was a machinist for the Des Moines Union Railway Co.  He was a member of the Lutheran Church, Acanthus Masonic Lodge 632, Temple Commandery, Royal Arch Masons, Za-Ga-Zig Shrine and the Internaltional Association of Machinists, Local 479.

Surviving are his widow, Astrid; a son, Ernest W. Weatherington, both of Des Moines; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Jardine of Pocahontas; two brothers, Frank of Torrence, CA and Linn of Los Angeles, CA, and three grandchildren.
