The Life of J R DENNEY
J.R. Denney, 61, of the 5400 block of NW First Street died of congestive heart failure Saturday at home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Denney was born in Henderson, Arkansas, and had lived in Waldron, Arkansas before moving to Des Moines 20 years ago. He was a retired self-employed mechanic. He enjoyed fishing and going to Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino.
He is survived by his wife, Eva; three sons, Terry and Rick, both of Des Moines, and James of Waldron; two daughters, Betty McCurry and Tammy Denney, both of Waldron; his mother, Margie Denney of Arkansas; two sisters, Bonnie Adams and Reva McCain, both of Arkansas; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
