The Life of ROY JUNIOR DAVIS

Roy J. Davis, 80, died Monday, November 10, 2003 at home after a long illness. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, November 13, at Highland Park Christian Church, with burial of the cremains at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Davis served in the India Burma area in World War II and retired from John Deere Des Moines Works after 30 years in 1978. After retirement, he volunteered for many years for the Polk COunty Supplemental Food Program. He had been a member of the Highland Park Christian Church since 1956. He is survived by his wife, Jean; two daughters, Peggy Tooppenberg of Soldotna, AK, and Betsy Davis-Noland of Ft. Collins, CO; a son, Steve of Henderson, NV; grandchildren, David, Katie, Reilly, Matthew, Christopher, Brittany, Steve II and Samantha; four great-grandhilcdren; a sister, Catherine and a brother, Kenneth, both of Ames; special friends, Sally and Michael Gephart of Eagen, MN and their children, Nicole and Justin; and many other friends. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be given to his church. >>
