The Life of GEORGE R ROW
George R. Row, 81, of 351 E Pleasantview Dr died of a respiratory ailment Wednesday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Merle Hay Funeral Home, and burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Row lived in Des Moines most of his life and retired as maintenance superintendent for Armstrong Rubber Co. He was a member of Pioneer Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Za-Ga-Zig Shrine.
Surviving are his wife, Betty; a stepson, Corey Phelps of Des Moines; a stepdaughter, Carolyn Metcalf of Philadelphia; two sisters, Dorothy Fane and Ethel Loftin, both of Des Moines; and three grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Omaha Home for Boys or Shriner''s Hospitals for Children.
