The Life of ETHEL ROW LOFTIN
Ethel Loftin, 82, died October 2, 2003 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, October 6 at Merle Hay Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Ethel was born Janury 1, 1921 in Reading, Pennsylvania. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Highland Park Post #374, Order of the Eastern Star, North High Alumni Association and Woman''s Life Insurance Society.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra K Heggen of Ames; son, Robert L Loftin of Lancaster, PA; grandchildren, Karen S Heggen-Cheng of Iowa City, Kevin M Heggen of Ames and A. Wen Gu Loftin of Lancaster, PA; sister, Dorothy Fane of Des Moines; and nephew, Richard Overholster of Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis B. "Tex" Loftin; her brother, George Row of Des Moines, and niece, Marjorie Overholster of Des Moines.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Westover Baptist Church.
