The Life of IRENE AGNES GILBRIDE

Irene Agnes Gilbride, 59, of the 8800 block of Northwest 16th Street, Ankeny, died of cancer Monday at Mercy Medical Center.  Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at All Saints Catholic Church, of which she was a member.  Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Gilbride was born in Red Lake Falls, MN, and had lived in Hibbing, MN as a youth.  She moved to the Des Moines area in 1962.  She had worked for the U.S. Postal Service before retiring and was an Air Force veteran.  She enjoyed gardening.

She is survived by her husband, Dwight; a daughter, Deanna Bennigsdorf of Runnells; two sons, Joe Carter of Des Moines and Mike Carter of Indianola; two stepsons, Richard of Omaha and Daniel of Des Moines; a stepdaughter, Christina Gilbride of Des Moines; her mother, Agnes Nash of Nishwauk, MN; six brothers, Patrick Nash of Denver, CO, Donald Nash of Riverside, CA, John Nash of Littleton, CO, Richard Nash of Hibbing, Edward Nash of Buffalo, MN, and Scott Nash of Nishwauk; three sisters, Julie Eskeli of Nishwauk, Kathy Sheersky of Zim, MN, and Violet Quinn of Des Moines; and nine grandchildren.

Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at the church, where a prayer service will be held at 6 p.m.  Memorial contributions may be made to her church''s building fund.  Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
