The Life of DONALD CHARLES SHUTT
Donald C. "Don" Shutt, 89, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2006 at Taylor House.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 10 at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 9 at Hamilton''''s Near Highland Memory Gardens.
Don was born August 26, 1916 to Harry and Mary Shutt. He had lived in the Des Moines area all of his life. On March 3, 1939, Don was united in marriage to Virginia McKeehan. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy Seabees. After the service, Don worked with his father painting houses and then worked for HyLine Poultry Farms until his retirement.
Don is survived by his wife of 67 years, Virginia; son, D. Charles of Des Moines; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Kenny Cockerham. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Wayne, Dale, Cleo and Melvin Shutt; three sisters, Alice Rees, Vera Luka and Gladys Blazer.
Memorial contributions may be made to Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House.
