The Life of RONALD L WITT
Ronald L. Witt, 52, of the 4000 block of First Street died of a liver ailment Thursday at home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Witt had lived in Des Moines all his life. He was a parts man with Interstate Detroit Diesel of Altoona and a Marine veteran. He enjoyed camping, fishing and calling for square dances.
He is survived by his wife, Elna "Georgie"; a son, Ronald Jr. of Des Moines; a daughter, Melissa Witt of Des Moines; a stepson, Wayne Harrison Jr., and his mother, Arlene Lear, both of Des Moines; a twin brother, Randel of Iowa Falls; a sister, Kelly Phipps of Pleasantville; and six grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mercy Medical Center Foundation.
