The Life of DELBERT WAYNE JACOBS Sr.

Delbert Wayne Jacobs Sr. 82, of the 4300 block of Northwest Ninth Street died of a heart ailment Thursday at CLC University.  Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Jacobs was born in Centerville and had lived in Des Moines all his life.  He was a tire builder for Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. for 38 years before retiring and a Navy veteran of World War II.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; two sons, Thomas Sr. of Des Moines and Delbert Jr. of Minneapolis; a daughter, Margaret Ann Ewing of Riverside, CA; three sisters, Wanda Kozeliski and Ilo Savage, both of Des Moines, and Opal Woods of Knoxville; a brother, Thomas "Valley" Jacobs of Centerville; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Sunshine Open Bible Tabernacle Church.
