The Life of ALFRED RAYMOND JONES
Alfred Raymond "Lige" Jones, 86, of Valborg Lutheran Home died of a heart ailment there Thursday. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Jones ws born in Winterset and had lived in Des Moines most of his life. He retired from the post office and was an Army veteran of World War II, where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member of AmVets.
Surviving are two stepdaughters, Louise Hart of Des Moines and Nona Wessels of Strawberry Point; six step-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchilden.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Iles Grandview Park Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to AmVets Post 2.
