The Life of HAROLD C MONOHON

Harold C "Monty" Monohon, 81, of 2640 E Payton Ave. died from complications of a heart ailment and pneumonia Saturday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Services will be at 11 am Wednesday at Hamilton''s Funeral Home Chapel, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Monohon was born in Unionville and lived in Des Moines most of his life, retiring as an iron worker. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Iron Workers Union and Bloomfield United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Vera; two sons, Patrick of Des Moines and Michael of Indianola; two daughters, Linda Monohon of West Des Moines and Karen Middlesworth of Lenexa, KS; two sisters, Nina Updike of Buellton, CA; and Patricia Carbajal of Orcutt, CA; a brother, Eugene of Pittsburg, KS; and five grandchildren. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.
