The Life of EDITH CAVELL DREHER
Memorial services were held August 4 at St. Paul''s Episcopal Church in Des Moines for Mrs. Edith C. Dreher, 61, of Des Moines who died August 1 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center here. She was a daughter of Mrs. May E. Lacey of Herington, KS.
Mrs. Dreher was born in Pratt, KS. She attended Herington schools and was graduated from high school in1936.
She later attended nurse''s training at Christ-Vail Hospital in Topeka, KS.
She was married to Robert Dreher at Battle Creek, MI in 1943. She and her husband moved from Topeka to Des Moines in 1946.
She was a member of St. Paul''s Episcopal Church, and was past president and treasurer of the Women of St. Paul''s. She also was a member of P.E.O. and a past worthy advisor for Rainbow Girls in Herington.
Besides her husband and mother, she is also survived by a daughter, Susan Schuchat of Des Moines; a son, R. Kim Dreher of Des Moines; her mother, May Lacey of Herinton and one grandchild.
The body was cremated.
The family suggests that any memorial contributions be made to St. Paul''s Episcopal Church or the American Cancer Society.
