The Life of WILLIAM L MCAFEE
William L. McAfee, 66, of 517 22nd Ave., SW., Altoona, died of cancer Tuesday at home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Altoona Funeral Home, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. McAfee was born in Collinsville, OK, and moved to the Des Moines area in 1964 and Altoona four years ago. He retired as a mailer for Meredith-Burda Co., was an Army Veteran of World War II and had been a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Altoona Assembly of God.
Surviving are his wife, Mildred; two daughters, Teresa Montes of Des Moines and Joyce Burkiett of West Des Moines; two sons, Bill, Jr., of Tempe, AZ, and Wendell of Altoona; a sister, Ellen Moore, and a brother, Marion, both of Collinsville; and four grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends form 4 to 8 p.m.today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to his church.
