The Life of JOHN M DICKSON

John M. Dickson, 89, of 4905 Douglas Ave. died of a stroke Tuesday at Luther Park Health Care Center.  Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Westchester Evangelical Free Church, of which he was a member.  Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Dickson was born in Buffalo, N.Y., and had lived in Des Moines since 1968.  He retired from Tension Envelope Machine Corp. and was a member of several toy train clubs.

Among survivors are his wife, Beverly; two daughters, Betty Jean Byrne of Bloomington, Ind., and Eileen Ruth Deuell of Fayetteville, N.Y.; a stepdaughter, Beverly Davis of Ankeny; a son, Paul of Tonawanda, N.Y.; two stepsons, James Stephens of Des Moines and Robert Stephens of Mingo; 21 grandchildren; 49 great-granchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, where the family will meet friends from 5 to 8 p.m.   Memorial contributions may be made to his church or Hospice of Central Iowa.
