The Life of JACK EDWARD DOUGHERTY

Jack Edward Dougherty, 56, of the 3900 block of East 26th St. died of a heart ailment Saturday at home. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hamilton''s Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Dougherty had lived in Des Moines all his life. He was a retired warehouse foreman and had served in the Army. He enjoyed fishing. He is survived by his wife, Sandra; two sons, Jack Jr. and Tim; and a daughter, Brenda McClelland, all of Des Moines; his father, Gale Daugherty of Valentine, NE; 11 brothers, Fred, Steven and Rodney Daugherty, all of Valentine; Gregg Daugherty of Cookston, NE; Jack Daugherty of Hyannis, NE; Roger and Timothy Daugherty, both of Kearney, NE; Charles Daugherty of Mullen, NE; Darrell Daugherty of Atkinson, NE; and Robert Daugherty and Walter Sorter, Jr., both of Des Moines; three sisters, Jean Daugherty of Crawford, NE; Joan Kappers of Wilbur, NE and Michelle Whited of Sterling, CO; and a grandchild. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
