The Life of GILBERT MICHAEL JACOBS

Gilbert Michael Jacobs, 79 of 880 N.E. 51st St. died of a stroke Sunday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Grandview Park Baptist Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Jacobs was born in Moravia and lived in Des Mones 55 years, coming from Centerville. He retired as a carpenter for Ringland-Johnson-Crowley Co. and had been a member of the carpenters union more than 50 years. Among survivors are his wife, Lauretta; two sons, James of Independence, Mo., and Jack of North Olmsted, Ohio; two daughters, Bonny Albright of Polk County and Janet Obradovich of Glendale, Calif.; three brothers, Wayne of Des Moines and Valley and Forest, both of Centerville; five sisters, Opal Woods of Knoxville, Nellie King and Iilona Rice, both of Centerville, and Ilo Savage and Wanda Kozeleski, both of Des Moines; 13 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Hamilton's Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to his church or Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny.
