The Life of RICKY JOE VAN ARKEL
Ricky Van Arkel, 48, of Glendale, AR died Monday at home. The cause of death is pending results of an autopsy. Services will be at 10 am Monday at Hamilton's Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Van Arkel was born in Des Moines and had moved to Glendale five years ago. He was a maintenance worker for Glendale area apartment complexes.
He is survived by his wife, Shannon of Phoenix; a daughter, Brandy Van Arkel of Des Moines; a stepdaughter, Shawna Boley of Des Moines; two stepsons, Sean Gyles and Martin Gyles, both of Des Moines; his mother and father, Donna and Pete Van Arkel of Des Moines; two brothers, Michael of Des Moines and Steven L of Hopewell, VA; two grandchildren; and six step-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 pm today at the funeral home.>>
