The Life of RUSSELL HILMER MCCARTY
Russell Hilmer McCarty, 79, of 3104 Cornell St. died of a heart attack Monday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Highland Park Lutheran Church, and burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. McCarty was born in Enterprise and lived in Des Moines most of his life. He retired after 28 years as a mailer at Meredith Printing, was a veteran of the Navy and had been a member of Highland Park Lutheran Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Masons and the Mailers Union.
Surviving are his wife, Ann; a daughter, Judy Rice of Atlanta; and two grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to his church or the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
