The Life of MILDRED M DONOVAN
Mildred Donovan, 89, of the 2800 block of East 16th St. died of complications of a stroke Sunday at USA Healthcare Center in Urbandale. Private graveside services will be held Saturday at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Donovan was born in Eagle Grove and had lived in Des Moines for more than 60 years. She was a retired bookkeeper with Holmes Oldsmobile and enjoyed making and giving hand crafts.
She is survived by a son, James, and a daughter, Marilyn Peterson, both of Des Moines; a sister, Frances Schmelzle of Leroy; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas.
Friends may call after 9 a.m. Saturday at Iles Grandview Park Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Centeral Iowa.
