The Life of JAMES GRANT LOTT

James G. Lott, 71, of Story City died of Alzheimer''s disease Saturday at Bethany Manor there.  Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Clarion.  The body has been donated for medical research.

Dr. Lott was born in Des Moines and practiced medicine in Clarion for 30 years and in Manson four years.  After retiring, he moved to Ames and later to Story City.  He was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of many medical societies.  He belonged to the Governor''s Council on Physical Fitness and worked with Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  He served as president of both the Junior Chamber of Commerce and the Clarion Lions Club, and he spent six years as a city councilman in Clarion.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores; two daughters, Lorraine Osborn of Denver, Colo., and Linda Smith of Marcus; a brother, Raymond; and two grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer''s Disease and Related Disorders Association or Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Adams Funeral Home in Ames is in charge of arrangements.
