The Life of LAVON M HIGENS MARMET

Lavon Marmet, 77, of 752 E. Broadway Ave., died of a heart attack Saturday at Des Moines General Hospital.  Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens.  Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Marmet was born in Monroe County and had lived in Des Moines for 50 years.  She had been a homemaker.

Surviving are her husband, Alvin; a daughter, Barb Wruck of Des Moines; three sons, Bob Higens of Baldwin, WI, Jim Higens of Julian, CA, and Norman Higens of San Diego, CA; a stepson, Don of Boone; two stepdaughters, Betty Reynolds and Pat Dubbs; a sister, Lola Acela; and two brothers, Clarence Carter and Vernie Carter, all of Des Moines; 21 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. today until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association.
