The Life of DOLLY ELIZABETH ARCHER
Dolly Elizabeth "Betty" Archer, 89, of Des Moines, Iowa and Mesa, Arizona, passed away Monday, August 29, 2005 at Citadel Care Center in Mesa, Arizona. She was a retired Dairy and Meat Department Manager.
She was born in Adel, Iowa and was preceded in death by her parents, Elijah and Eliza Harsh, five brothers,four sisters and her step-son, Jimmy. Survivors include her husband, James Archer; daughter, Katherine Maxine Griswold; step-son, Harry Archer; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Dolly was a devoted member of the Order of the Eastern Star; having been a Past Matron and State Representative. Those who knew Dolly will remember her excellent cooking skills, with specialties including homemade coleslaw, chocolate cake and ham balls. Her most enjoyable moments were spent with her family and friends.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 3 at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue,. followed by burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, September 2, 2005 at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Acanthus Order of the Eastern Star.
