The Life of RAYMOND GILBERT SMITH

Services for Ray G. Smith, 77, of Pleasant Hill, who died of a heart attack Thursday at Des Moines General Hospital, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Hamilton''s Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

A lifelong resident of Des Moines, Mr. Smith was a retired foreman at the local Ford implement plant.  A World War II U.S. Navy veteran, he was a member of UAW Local 991 and Easton Place United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice; four sons, Raymond G. of Wallingford, Pa. and Jack L., Jerry O. and Glenn L., all of Des Moines; three daughters, Betty L. Dyer of Beloit, Wis., Beverly L. Wade of San Jose, Calif., and Joy M. Bellis of Des Moines; two sisters, Lula Burnett and Lizzie Whitman, both of Des Moines; 31 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Easton Place United Methodist Church.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Hamilton''s Funeral Home.
