The Life of EDWARD ALONZO SEARCY

Services for Edward A. Searcy, 83, of 2717 Logan Ave., who died of Kidney failure Wednesday at Des Moines General Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hamilton''s Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Born in Missouri, Mr. Searcy had lived in Des Moines since 1904.  He was a retired mechanic.  He worked for Dewey Ford Garage and Orville Lowe as well as managing several service stations.  He was a member of Grant Park Christian Church and the International Machinists Union.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel; two daughters, Karen Dykstra of Otley and Janice Hook of Lakewood, CO; two sons, Dean Redman and Franklyn McMillen, both of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Tom and Charles, both of Des Moines; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after noon today at the funeral home.  The family suggests that any memorial contributions be made to Grant Park Christian Church.
