The Life of RICHARD L BOYLAN
Richard L "Dick" Boylan, 71, passed away May 7, 2005 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 12, 2005 at Hamilton''s near Highland Memory Gardens, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Richard was born Augutst 5, 1933 and was a life long resident of Des Moines with the exception of 1996 to 2004 when he resided in Colfax. He was a driver supervisor for Neighbor Care Pharmacy and also worked for Keefe Commissary at the Polk County Jail after being self employed as a pressman most of his career, and a Polk County deputy sheriff for 19 years. He was a member of the ZaGaZig Shrine and East Gate Lodge.
Richard is survived by his seven loving children, Ron (Connie) of Des Moines, Rhonda (Mark) Johnston of Prescott, AZ, Robin Wright of Prairie City, Rick (Darcy) of Des Moines, Ruth Pohlmeier of Colfax, Roxanne (Paul) Muffler of Des Moines and Ray Lynn (John) Logan of Des Moines; two sisters, Marilyn (Don) Davis and Marjorie (Stan) Clinton, both of Des Moines; 21 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He will be joining his wife of 42 years, Patricia, who left us in February of this year.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Credit Union, 1063 5th Ave., Des Moines, IA 50314.
