The Life of MARGARET R FREDREGILL BALLARD
Margaret R. (Fredregill) Ballard, 86, died Monday, July 24, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 27, 2006 at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 121 NW 60th Ave. with burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Margaret was born and raised in Des Moines and she graduated from East High School. She married Donald L. Ballard and they had ten children, and were married for 58 years before he passed away. She loved her large family and enjoyed sewing and quilting for her family and many friends.
Margaret is survived by nine of her children; four sons, Dennis (Shirley) and Fred (Shirley) of Ankeny, Clifford of Elizabethtown, KY and Leonard (Sheryl) of Des Moines; and five daughters, Margorie Burgess, Bettie (Ken) Danley, Connie Ballard and Karen Ballard all of Des Moines and Phyllis (Mike) Hastie of Fort Dodge; 26 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by three sisters, Rosie Mohr of Marshall, MN, Virginia Klemm of Ankeny and Betty Stanger of Des Moines and many more relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald in 1996, her son Jeffrey in 1969, her parents, three brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be held after 5 p.m. on Wednesday at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens and the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Camp Sunnyside.
