The Life of CARL H HANSEN
Carl H. Hansen, 75, passed away September 15, 2004 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Services will be 12 p.m. Saturday, September 18, at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Carl was born April 7, 1929 and was a lifelong resident of Des Moines. He was a member of Union Park Baptist Church and worked as a Brick Mason for many years, retiring as the General Superintendent from Forrest and Associates.
Carl and DOnna loved to travel in their motorhome and especially enjoyed wintering in Florida. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing and camping. Family was most important to Carla nd he enjoyed the many family get-togethers they shared. His children were the pride of his life, while his grandchildren were his extreme joy.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Hansen; daughter, Carla Kauzlarich (Dave) of Des Moines; sons, Craig (Myra), Steve of Runnells, Bryan (Charlene) of Des Moines, and Gary (Carol) of Norwalk; daughter, Joy Long (Mitch) of Urbandale; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret Gazzo of Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Agnes; brothers, Johnny and Jack; and grandsons, Brennan Carl and Mason.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Union Park Baptist Church.
