The Life of JAMES ALBERT KELLOW

Services for James A. (Shorty) Kellow, 61, of 1808 Allison Ave. will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hamilton''s Funeral Home, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Kellow died of a heart attack Sunday.  He was dead on arrival at Broadlawns Polk County Hospital.

A native of Earlham, Mr. Kellow lived in Winterset before moving to Des Moines 25 years ago.  He was a retired diesel mechanic for Electrical Services and Sales Co., and was an instructor''s aide for the Des Moines Technical High School Aviation Laboratory.

A licensed pilot and a licensed avaition mechanic for many years, Mr. Kellow was a member of the Civil Air Patrol, the Northfield Flying Club, the International Antique Airplane Association and was a member and past president of the Iowa Chapter of the Antique Airplane Association.

Survivors include his wife, Geneva; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Jane Howard of Amarillo, TX, Mrs. Sharon Caffrey of Geneseo, IL, and Mrs. Sue Tiernan of Cedar Falls; two brothers, Harold of Des Moines and Kenneth of Carlisle; seven sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Sanders of Des Moines, Mrs. Margaret Davis and Mrs. Violet Pennington, both of West Des Moines, Mrs. Mildred Cooper of Melcher, Mrs. Lola Sheeder of Dexter, Mrs. Norma Woodard of Independence, MO, and Mrs. Janet Shue of St. Joseph, MO; his mother, Mrs. Julia Jane Kellow of West Des Moines, and 10 grandchildren.
