The Life of BETTY ANNE OVERTON
Betty A. Overton died November 4, 2006 at the Mercy Hospice in Johnston. She was 71.
Betty was born to Nicholas and Mary Waltz, August 19, 1934. After completeing her education of several insurance classes obtaining her C.L.U., she worked for Brooks-Lussem Insurance Agency for 26 years before retirement.
Her memberships included All Saints Catholic Church and Insurance Women of America. She was also the Treasurer of the Catholic Daughters of America. Betty loved her family and friends. She had an avid interest in genealogy and gardening and especially The Catholic Daughters of America among other church activities.
Betty is survived by her loving husband, Keith of Des Moines; and a daughter Karla Overton of West Des Moines. Other survivors include her step-daughters, Dixie (Tom) Bergsma of Panora and Linda (Bill) Cowan of Des Moines, one step-son, Keith Dennis Overton also of Des Moines, three step-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren. She also leaves four brothers, Dan, Jim, Don and Kenneth Waltz; and a sister, Marilyn Lyddon.
Preceding her in death were her parents; a sister, Kathleen Holliday; and a brother, Edward Waltz.
Memorial Contributions are suggested to Marcy Hospice in Johnston, All Saints Catholic Church or Highland Park Lutheran Church.
