The Life of WILLIAM EDWARD MCKIBBEN
William “Bill” McKibben, 75, passed away October 21, 2010 at the University of Iowa Hospital due to complications from an accidental fall. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 27th at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home with burial following at Highland Memory Gardens. A visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Bill was a graduate of Lincoln High School. He retired from NW Bell/US West in 1990 after 37 years of service. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and watching horse racing. He loved spending the winter months in Arizona.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Shirley; daughters Terri (Tony) Rand, Traci (Dave) Atkin, Tammi (Rick) Lewis; grandchildren Tenille (Tom) Hamilton, Chris Atkin; great grandchildren Terra Hamilton, Taten Atkin; brother Barry (JoAnn) McKibben; his aunt Gladys Whitcomb; sister-in-law Norma (Bill) Rodenbaugh and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Parkinson Foundation, American Cancer Society or the Heart Association.
