The Life of ELVERA M WESTERGAARD
Elvera M Westergaard, 82, of Luther Park Health Care Center died of complications of Alzheimer's disease there Wednesday. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hamilton's Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with burial at Highlan Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Westergaard had lived in Des Moines all her life. She was a retired legal secretary, a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of First Lutheran Church.
She is survived by two sons, Mark of Urbandale and Neal of Des Moines; three sisters, Helen Morgan of Prescott, AZ; Margaret Miller of Long Beach, CA; and Dorothy Roth of Independence, MO; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to her church or Luther Park Health Care Center.
