The Life of LOYD LA VERNE CRABBS

Loyd LaVerne Crabbs, 75, of the 6500 block of Northwest 54th Court died of leukemia Tuesday at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.  Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Federated Church, of which he was a member.  Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Carbbs was born in Guthrie County and had lived in Earlham and Linden before moving to the Des Moines area 32 years ago.  He was a retired security guard.

He is survived by his wife, Jean; a daughter, Michal Jean Crabbs of Windsor Heights; four sons, Max of Arnolds Park, Norman of Grovetown, GA, and Jim Suchow and John Suckow, both of Des Moines;  three brothers, Donald of Des Moines, Harold of Yucca Valley, CA, and Vern of Earlham; a sister, Thelma Hall of Earlham; and a grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home.
