The Life of ALVENA VIOLA GALVAN

Alvena V. Galvan, 75, of 3018 Logan Ave., died of a heart ailment Saturday at home. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Hamilton's Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens. Mrs. Galvan was born in Cedar Rapids and had lived in Des Moines most of her life. She was a nurses' aide and a member of Calvary Apostolic Church. Survivors include five sons, Anastasto, Thomas and Narciso, all of Des Moines, T. Opal Holiday of Ankeny and Joseph Littlebear of Boone; three daughters, Peggi Spors, Petra Blair, and Consuela Walker, all of Des Moines; two half-brothers, Walter Blackburn of Dyersville and Richard Blackburn of California; a half sister, Darlene Adney of Cedar Rapids; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
