The Life of THORSTIEN B ASCHIM
Services for Thorstein B. Aschim, 97, who died of a heart ailment Friday at Luther Park Health Center, 1555 Hull Ave., will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Central Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Aschim was born in Norway, and lived in Des Moines since 1903. A cabinet maker for Jaeger Manufacturing Co. for more than 50 years, he was a member of Central Lutheran Church and the Carpenters Union.
Survivors include five sons, Theodore of Dallas, TX, Robert of Rockford, IL, Donald of Lakeview, AR, Kenneth of Hemet, CA, and Dean of Des Moines; a daughter, Delores Aschim of Des Moines; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests that any memorial contributions be made to Luther Park Health Center of Central Lutheran Church.
