The Life of WILLIAM JOHN BROWN
Services for William J. Brown, 68, of 3620 Amherst St., who died of cancer and complications from a broken hip Friday at Des Moines General Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hamilton''s Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Born in Mitchellville, Mr. Brown moved to Des Moines when he was 11. He was a retired machinist foreman for The Des Moines Register. He also was a World War II veteran, a member of Grant Park Christian Church and Union Park Masonic Lodge 658.
Survivors include his wife, Verla; a daughter, Janna Pierick of Des Moines; two sons, David of Altoona and W. Bruce of Des Moines; a brother, Arthur of Tucson,AZ; and eight grandchildren.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
Friends may call after noon today until service time at the funeral home.
