The Life of ROE T WILLIAMS

Roe T. Williams, 72, of 2713 John Petterson Road died of complications of diabetes Friday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hamilton''s Funerla Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Williams was born in Lisbon and had lived in Des Moines most of his life. He was the retired owner of Garvis/Fabricon Manufacturing Co., a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the Southtown Kiwanis Club and the East High Alumni Association. He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice, four sons, Michael and Phillip both of Des Moines, Robert of Waukee and Steven of Peshastin, WA; three daughters, Carol Knapp of Des Moines, Lynne Harrison of Altoona and Anne Fitch of Colfax; a brother, James of Huntsville, AL; a sister, Mary Jo Haugo of Litchfield, MN; and 10 grandchildren. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 4 to 7 p.m. today and also from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Care P.C. Hemodialysis Unit in Des Moines or the Duke Williams Scholarship Fund at East High School.
