The Life of Mary Statkevich Pawchyk

Mary Pawchyk, age 93 of Ansonia, beloved wife of the late Dimitro Pawchyk, died July 19, 2011 in the comfort of her home with her family by her side. Born in Ansonia on August 1, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Anna Statkevich. Mrs. Pawchyk was a lifelong Ansonia resident and member of Three Saints Orthodox Church, where she was a member of the Choir, Balalaika Orchestra and the Holy Virgin Society. She worked for Rothman's Clothing Store, the Peter Paul Co. and Dworkin Chevrolet, until her retirement in 1979. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Nancy Gulash of Shelton and Paula Pawchyk of Ansonia; sisters, Olga Statkevich of Ansonia and Helen Kosowsky of Shelton; a brother, John Statkevich and his wife, Cecile of Shelton; cherished granddaughter, Mary Pagliaro and her husband, Ernest of Shelton and dearest great-granddaughter, Natalia Pagliaro of Shelton. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son-in-law, George Gulash. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, July 23, 2011, at 9:00AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM in Three Saints Orthodox Church, 26 Howard Ave., Ansonia. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia
