The Life of Michael Kwoka

Oxford, Michael Kwoka 88yrs entered into eternal rest May 22, 2011, at Griffin Hospital after a brief illness. He leaves behind his beloved wife Eva (Pawchyk) of 63 years; his loving son David and his wife Dianne and his two precious grandchildren, Katelyn and Suzanne of South Glastonbury. He is survived by his sister, Mary Baktis of Shelton. He was born in Seymour, November 14, 1922 to the late Panko and Esther (Zysko) Kwoka. He is pre-deceased by a sister Anna Balko, and brothers Phil, John, and Paul. He leaves a proud legacy to the Naugatuck Valley, Oxford Paint and Hardware that he started in 1956, along with his brother Paul Quoka, and it continues thriving as a family owned, full service lumber yard under the ownership of his dearest nephews Michael, John, and Al Quoka. Michael was a member of the Three Saints Russian Orthodox Church in Ansonia CT. He was a World War II veteran who served in the Air Force as a B24 gunner. He also served as former Treasurer for the Oxford Lions club. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 26th at 11AM in the Ralph Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church St, Seymour CT.
