The Life of Anna Marie D'Alexander Cherhoniak

CHERHONIAK Anna Maria "Marie" Cherhoniak, age 84 of Seymour, beloved wife of the late Peter S. Cherhoniak, died April 22, 2011, at home surrounded by her family. Born in Ansonia on January 12, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Santi and Rose D'Alexander. Mrs. Cherhoniak was a longtime resident of Seymour and a Communicant of St. Augustine Church. Together with her husband, she owned and operated Pete's Canteen, the food concessions located inside the Farrell Company. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Karen Lefevre and her husband Art of Seymour, and Denise Tracy and her husband, Randy of PA; cherished grandchildren, Christine Dufour and her husband, Jason of Wolcott, Wayne Hoyt of Seymour, Randy Tracy, Jr. of PA; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Dufour of Wolcott, Adrian, Sera and Krysten Tracy of PA. She was predeceased by her first husband, Michael F. Anzidei; brothers, Ignatious, Julian, and Joseph D'Alexander; and sisters, Rose Cirri and Josephine Kostyk. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 9 a.m. from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Augustine Church, 35 Washington Ave., Seymour at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
