The Life of JACK D MANWILLER

Jack “Manny” Manwiller, 95 of Laureldale, passed away on October 25, 2021, in his son’s home. He kept people laughing with his humor and jokes. Jack was the husband of the late Dorothy (Fehr) Manwiller, married 72 years. Born in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Howard & Elsie (Thiry) Manwiller. Jack met the love of his life, Dorothy, at a dance, and they were soon married & honeymooned at Hershey Hotel. They enjoyed cruises and traveling with friends & relatives. Graduating from Muhlenberg High School in 1944, Jack later went on to being a Safety Inspector for AT&T. Jack started out as a bat boy and later advanced to a top player for his team. Here he was nicknamed “The Lid.” He was also part of the Alley Kats where he bowled at the Laurel Lanes in Laureldale. Jack proudly served his country as a TEC4 in the Army. Here he received a Good Conduct Medal (Germany) European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon WWll Victory Ribbon. He held many memories of being stationed in Stuttgart Germany and his dog Butch. Jack is survived by his children: Jay, husband of Lorri Manwiller, Denver PA; Joyce, wife of Dennis Davies of Oley; Jon, husband of Linda Manwiller, Alsace Township. In addition are his grandchildren: Stephen and Kathleen Walborn; Drew and Brent Davies. Also surviving are his great grandchildren: Jack, Ryan, Mia and Lily Davies.  Jack enjoyed sharing stories about times spent watching them all grow. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jane Walborn, and siblings Earl, Russell, and Mildred (Seidel).
