The Life of Frederick E. Hamm Jr.

Frederick E. Hamm Jr., 85, died Nov. 1, 2007, in the Laurel Center. Born July 13, 1922, in Kutztown, he was a son of the late Frederick E. Sr. and Elda (Reppert) Hamm. He was employed by Caloric Corp., Topton, until retiring. He was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. During World War II, he received the Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster for single-handedly capturing 200 German soldiers in Luxembourg. He was a member of the Pikeville Sportsmen’s Club and Kempton Rod and Gun Club. He is survived by a son, Linwood F., husband of Debbie Hamm, Kutztown; and two daughters, Sandra, wife of Richard Dietrich, Fleetwood; and Mary, wife of Eugene Stump, Macungie. Other survivors include seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Edward J. Hildenbrand Funeral Home Inc., 346 W. Main St., Kutztown. Burial with military honors will be in Hope Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. .
