The Life of MARY E KAUCHER

Mary E. (Denman) Kaucher, 96, died

December 2, at home in Wyomissing. She was the beloved wife of James E. Kaucher Sr., who predeceased her in 1987.

Born on December 29, 1920, in Mount Carmel, Ill., Mary was the eldest of eight children of the late Elmer and Mary Denman.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish, West Reading, and previously belonged to Holy Guardian Angels Parish, Laureldale.

At different times in her life she worked as a telephone operator, sales clerk and daycare aide, but the full-time

vocation she pursued with love and devotion was that of wife and mother.

For years she volunteered at John Paul II Center for Special Learning, Shillington, and was among the school's most ardent supporters.

She is survived by two children, James E. Kaucher Jr., husband of Antoinette, Birdsboro, and Mary Deemer, wife of Richard, Wyomissing; five grandsons: Michael Kaucher, husband of Pamela; Joseph Kaucher, husband of Christal; Bryan Deemer, husband of Tasha; Adam Deemer, husband of Alaina; and Matthew Deemer; and seven great-grandchildren: Jennifer, Helen and Andrew Kaucher, and Clara, Stella, Hazel and Jasper Deemer.

Mary was predeceased by four siblings: Robert, Margaret Ann and Thomas Denman, and Rita Castro.

She is survived by three brothers: William, Richard and James Denman.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at 11 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church, West Reading. Entombment will be at Gethsemane Cemetery.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Ave., West Reading.
