The Life of Robert Froliger

Robert A. Froliger, age 63 of Ansonia, died January 15, 2011 in his home following a brief illness. Born in Derby on August 28, 1947 he was the son of the late Herman Froliger and Mary Baranowsky Froliger of Seymour. Mr. Froliger was a lifelong Ansonia resident and U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked as a meat cutter for several area grocery stores, retiring from BJ's of Derby. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Mary Markey and her husband, Francis of Naugatuck and a son Eric Froliger and his wife, Jackie of Naugatuck; a brother, Herman Froliger and his wife, Carol of Milford; as well as 10 grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Joann Plourde. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 6:00 PM in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. Private interment with military honors will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
