The Life of WILLIAM A SIMCIK

William A. "Bill" Simcik, 73, of St. Lawrence, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017 in his residence. He was the husband of Ann M. (Dehoff) Simcik. Born in Hazleton, he was a son of the late William J. and Magdalen B. (Jenco) Simcik.

Bill was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and Kutztown University. He was a former member of Sts. Cyril and Methodius R.C.C. and a current member of St. Catharine of Siena R.C.C.

He was a part of the former coaching staff of the Reading High School Football Team. Bill had a passion for cooking and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Bill was an English teacher for the Reading School District for thirty years until his retirement.

In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by three daughters: Lisa A., wife of Patrick Konopelski of Exeter Township, Jennifer A., wife of Wanly Parra of Media and Terri Anne, wife of J. Kenneth Fritz of Green Hills ; nine grandchildren, Jacqueline, Jonathan, Lauren, Morgan, Ryan, Jordan, Lily, Lucia Wren and Tomas; two sisters, Marita, widow of John Buynak and Andrea, wife of John Blue; and three brothers: Christopher S. Simcik, husband of Jane, Jerome T. Simcik, husband of Beth, and John T. Simcik, husband of Amy; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2017 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Ave. Reading, PA 19606. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Cyril and Methodius R.C.C., 449 S. 6th Street Reading, PA 19602. Interment in Gethsemane Cemetery.
