The Life of MABEL I SIEGFRIED

Mabel I. Siegfried, 92, formerly of Reading, passed away,Thursday, September 28, 2017 in Wyomissing Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of Charles Siegfried, of whom she married in 1957.

Born in Bethel, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Allen and Gertrude (Weber) Heberling. She was a member of St. Paul's R.C.C., of Reading. Mabel was a graduate of Bethel High School in 1943 and a graduate of the St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in 1948. While her husband was in the Army, Mabel worked at Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y., Winthrop Hospital in

Winthrop, Massachusetts and Astoria General Hospital in Astoria, N,Y. When she returned to Reading, she was employed by the Hawthorne Home.

In addition to her husband, Mabel is survived by four daughters: Maria T. Kantner, Karen A. Sciole, Monica C. Siegfried and Helena A. Einsel; three grandsons: Kenneth and Stephen Kantner, and Eric Sciole; three great-granddaughters: Juliana, Gabriella and Kaia Kantner.

She was pre-deceased by a sister, Bernice Lamm.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Monday, October 2, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m., with services beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Lutz Funeral Home, 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading. Interment will be at Gethsemane Cemetery Laureldale.
