The Life of KATHLEEN A. ALONGE

Kathleen Alonge Kathleen A. Alonge, 83, formerly of Reading, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at Legend Assisted Living Home in Macungie, PA after a brief stay. She was the beloved wife of Vincent B. Alonge, Macungie, where they lived for the past eighteen years until her passing. She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Allentown. Kathleen was born in Reading, the daughter of the late Margaret (Sauer) and John F. Keegan, Sr. She graduated from Central Catholic High School, Reading and later received an associate degree in accounting from Penn State Berks Campus. She was an accounting manager for Exide Battery. Kathleen was an avid golfer and cyclist. She loved all sports, and tried all sports; everything from swimming and tennis to cross country skiing. One of her greatest accomplishments was to ride her bike up the Canadian Rockies in her mid fifties. She was married to Donald J. McKeone from 1958 until his passing in 1990. They had four children together and a wonderful marriage. Kathleen was then married to Richard Cerbone from 1992 until his passing in 1996. Kathleen is survived by her four children: Maureen, wife of Peter Gipprich, Jim Thorpe, PA; Eileen, wife of John Coale, Annapolis MD; Christopher McKeone, husband of Susan (Cerbone), Harleysville, PA; and Daniel husband of Lynne (Pileggi), Miramar Beach, FL. She is survived by ten grandchildren: Kathleen (Matt) Haggerty, Hamburg, PA; Carissa (Dario) Deak, Los Angeles, CA; Matthew (Emily) Coale, Washington, DC; Elizabeth (Ben) Rigsby, Baltimore, MD; Abigail Coale and Ben Coale, Annapolis, MD; Sean McKeone, Valdosta, GA; Eric McKeone, Natural Bridge, VA; Hope McKeone, a student at Kutztown University; and Grace McKeone a student at University of Rhode Island. She is also survived by three great grandchildren and her sister, Joan Wojciechowski, Greenfields. She was predeceased by her brother, John F. Keegan, Jr. She is also survived by her husband Vince’s five children: John, Vincent, Theresa, Edward, and Robert; their spouses and nine grandchildren, all whom she loved as her extended family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday February 4, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Catharine of Siena Chapel 2427 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading, PA. with burial to follow at Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call at St. Catharine of Siena Chapel from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kathleen’s favorite charity: Catholic Charities, 900 S.
