The Life of ROBERT DONALD LENGEL

Robert Donald Lengel 83, of Penn

Township passed away September 14, 2017 in the Reading Hospital surrounded by his loving family. His wife Jeanette L. (Torchia) Lengel passed away October 21, 2013.

He was born in Reading on October 17, 1933, a son of the late Charles L. and Erma (Killheffner) Lengel. Robert was a Penn Bernville High School graduate and an Army Veteran serving during peace time. He was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church and was employed by Dana Corp. as an electrician for 25 years retiring in 1998.

Bob is survived by his son, Edward D., and his wife

Kathryn Lengel, of Bern Township; and his daughter,

Robin J., and her husband Michael Czar, of Blacksburg, Va.; 5 grandchildren: Nick Czar, Ana Czar, Scott Keller,

Matthew Keller and Kristen Keller. Also surviving are his 2 sisters, Lorraine Rathman and Elaine Strunk, both of

Reading; and his niece; and caregiver, Marj Lengel who took great care of our dad and showed compassion over the last 5 years so our dad could enjoy life at home.

Robert was predeceased by his son Andrew C. Lengel in 1982; and his 5 siblings: Kathryn Blankenbiller, Warren Lengel, Rosie Wojszwillo, Helean Heffner and Arlene Shupp.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 10 a.m. in St. Ignatius Loyola RCC, 2700 St. Albans Dr., Reading PA 19609. Burial to follow Gethsemane Cemetery. A viewing will be Monday,

September 18, 2017 6-8 p.m. in Theo C. Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn St., Reading. In lieu of flowers

contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 399 Market St Suite 102, Phila., PA 19106.
